Orlando International Airport shows solid growth
The Orlando (FL) Business Journal

Orlando International Airport experienced double-digit growth in the number
of domestic and international passengers that went through its gates in
November as compared to the same period in 2003.

The airport had 2.4 million domestic passengers come through in November for
a gain of 12.7 percent, while the number of international passengers
increased 7.6 percent to 165,000.

Airport officials attribute the increase in domestic passengers, in part, to
the start up of air service by Independence Air to a number of locations,
including Washington, D.C., and Greensboro, N.C. The airline created 91 new
flights per week in November from Orlando International Airport.

For the first 11 months of 2004, nearly 28.5 million passengers used the
airport. Airport officials expect that when the numbers from December are
tallied, the year-end total will be nearly 31 million passengers.
