Effort to speed airport security is going private
The Wall Street Journal

The Transportation Security Administration, which is under the Homeland
Security Department, is preparing to tap a private company to expand the
Registered Traveler pilot program to other US cities. Representatives from
Orlando International Airport are in talks with TSA officials regarding the
details of a privately run Registered Traveler program in the airport. Under
the program, frequent air passengers who voluntary participate in terrorist
and criminal background checks get access to special security lines, helping
reduce their aircraft check-in times.
