Woman tried to smuggle cocaine in her bra
South Africa - The Independent
A woman was arrested in Kempton Park on Monday shortly before she tried to
smuggle cocaine - concealed in slippers, a bra and a cap - on a flight to
Australia, police said.
The South African woman and two men, from Cameroon and Nigeria, would appear
in the Kempton Park magistrate's court on Tuesday, police spokesperson
Superintendent Eugene Opperman said.
"Detectives who were monitoring the group's activities for the past 10 days
followed them from Johannesburg.
"They pounced on the syndicate in Kempton Park on the North Rand just before
they reached the Johannesburg International Airport," said Opperman.
"After stopping the suspects' vehicle, they found slippers with false
compartments. They contained cocaine."
A bra and cap containing cocaine were also seized. The total value of all
the cocaine was about R500 000.
