Airliner slides off runway at northern Colo. airport
The Denver (CO) Post
Fort Collins - Allegiant Airlines is trying to arrange a flight to Las Vegas
for 150 passengers who were stranded in Fort Collins after their plane slid
off the runway late Wednesday at the Fort Collins-Loveland Airport.
Many of the people on board were Wyoming Cowboys fans traveling to see the
football team play UCLA in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Passengers said the MD-80 slid off the runway as it taxied for takeoff. The
pilot tried to back the plane onto the runway, but could not, according to
Jim Kaoutz, a passenger on the plane.
Passengers remained on the plane from 90 minutes before being bussed to the
terminal. All of them were given hotel stays.
