Hrabko tapped as Lambert Airport's interim director
The Associated Press

ST. LOUIS - The chief of St. Louis County's aviation and a member of the
Lambert Airport Commission will serve as the airport's interim director,
officials said Friday.

Richard Hrabko will succeed Leonard Griggs, who retires Dec. 31, until a
permanent Lambert director is named after a search process expected to take
months, St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay and St. Louis County Executive Charlie
Dooley said.

"Dick knows aviation and knows the airport," Slay said in a statement. "He
will be a good steward until we hire a permanent director. We will not skip
a beat."

Hrabko has been the county's director of aviation since 1980 and, in that
capacity, has served on the Lambert commission for the past three years. As
aviation director, Hrabko largely has been responsible for administering and
operating the Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield.
