"Mexican airport concessionaire offers US$1bn for TBI"

Paper/ GAP offers US$1bn for UK airport concessionaire

Mexican airport concessionaire Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAP) has
offered US$1bn to buy British based concessionaire TBI, Mexican daily El
Informador reported.
The offer is for 100% of TBI, which has US$500mn in working capital and
US$200mn in debt.
A regional airports company, in the UK TBI owns and operates the airports at
London Luton, Cardiff and Belfast.
Internationally, it operates three airports in Bolivia and one in Sweden,
handling a total of 18 million passengers in 2003. It also partially
operates other airports, including Costa Rica's airport at San Jose, and is
estimated to bring in US$450mn this year.
In western and central Mexico, GAP holds the concessions for 12 airports,
including those at Guadalajara, Tijuana, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos,
Hermosillo and Leon.
