Airport trying to educate public
The Associated Press
COLUMBUS - Golden Triangle Regional Airport officials hope a new marketing
campaign will educate the public about the airport's competitive rates.
Passenger loads have been increasing at the airport in recent months.
But many people still don't know flights from GTRA are competitive with
flights from many other airports in the region and even cheaper in some
cases.
"When gas and parking are included, the savings can be significant," said
Mike Hainsey, GTRA deputy director said, presenting a comparison of flights
to a variety of destinations from Birmingham, Ala., Memphis, Tenn., Jackson
and other locations.
