TSA: Security Scare At Midway Causes Big Delays
WMAQ-TV Ch 4 (NBC), Chicago (IL)

CHICAGO -- An apparent security breach at Midway Airport caused dozens of
flight delays on Monday as authorities swept the terminal.

The incident began when a man tried to get through a security checkpoint
with a suspicious device in his bag, according to a spokesperson for the
Transportation Security Administration. When officials stopped the man, he
reportedly grabbed the bag and tried to flee.

Security officers apprehended the man moments later. However, when they
searched his bag, the suspicious object was no longer inside, the
spokesperson said. That prompted the shutdown of Midway's only terminal as
authorities scoured the area, looking for the object.

TSA officials said 21 departing flights and 20 arrivals are being delayed
while the terminal is searched and passengers are re-screened.
