Eight Companies Bid for Concessions of Bulgaria's Main Black Sea Airports

SOFIA (bnn)- A total of eight companies have bid in an auction the
government has called for to select concession holders for Bulgaria's Black
Sea airports of Varna and Burgas, the Ministry of Transport and
Communications said Monday.

A ministry press release said that bidders included: 

-Hochtief Airport GmbH teamed up with Bulgaria's Albena AD,
-Vinci Airports teamed up with Vinci Concessions,
-DUTKO Group,
-Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide teamed up with BM Star EOOD
- Bulgaria,
-Copenhagen Airports A/S,
-Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al-Kharafi and Sons teamed up with Aeroports de Paris,
-Corporation America Sociedad Anonima teamed up with American International
Airports LLC, 
-Nice Cote d'Azur Airport teamed up with Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport.

The ministry said it would shortlist bidders qualifying for the next step of
the auction on Dec. 3.

The airports of Burgas and Varna are the main arrival gates for more than 3
million foreign tourists that visit Bulgaria mainly during the summer
holiday season.
