Airport Leaders Want More Expansion
KNTV-TV Ch 11 (NBC), San Jose (CA)

Mineta San Jose International Airport is undergoing extensive renovations
but there is now a push to make it even larger then the original expansion
plan.

Airport leaders plan to ask the San Jose city council to approve a 40
percent increase in size in the airport's final plan.

The council in 2001 approved plans to more than double the size of the
airport.

The airport wants the extra space for bigger security check points, play
areas for children and other amenities.
