Airlines criticise Spanish airports
Spain - Expansion

Spanish airlines Spanair and Air Europa, as well as German counterpart Air
Berlin, yesterday condemned the fact that the 'inefficiency' of Spanish
airports was responsible for an increase in airfares of between 6 and 8 per
cent. The airlines condemned the fact that airlines offered cheap fares, but
that the cost of these fares increased as a result of 'expensive and
inefficient' airport infrastructure.

The airlines also called for improvements to facilities at the airport of
Palma in order to improve air transport in the Balearic Islands.
