Sky's limit at Bradley
The Republican (MA)

THUMBS UP, THUMBS DOWN

While it hasn't been smooth flying for the airline industry as a whole,
Bradley International Airport's passenger count continues to soar, and
that's good news for the Hartford-Springfield region that the airport
serves.

Passenger use rose for the eighth straight month in August - and was up 6
percent over the same month last year, with 614,000 travelers using the
airport.

Bradley spokesman John Wallace said the gains are due to growing comfort
with security at the airport and the recent renovations, including a new
terminal and a parking garage.

We congratulate the Windsor Locks facility for earning its wings as a
first-class regional airport. Its success is a tribute to the fine,
forward-looking planning and management at Bradley.

With the airport contributing almost $2.5 billion into the region's economy
annually, the facility is a valuable engine for future growth.

With more improvements planned at the airport over the next several years,
it appears as if the sky is the limit.

Next stop? A direct flight to Europe?
