Court's ruling keeps Tempelhof Airport open
The Associated Press
BERLIN - A top administrative court ruled in favor of several small airlines
that want to keep the historic Tempelhof Airport open.
The Berlin state authorities had decided to close it by Oct. 31 after 81
years of operation. The closing was to be part of a plan to establish former
East Berlin's Schönefeld airport as the capital's new hub.
It was not clear how long Tempelhof would remain open, but officials said
the closing remained a "high priority."
