TSA chief at Philadelphia International Airport resigns
The Associated Press

PHILADELPHIA - The new head of security at Philadelphia International
Airport is leaving after less than six months on the job.

The Transportation Security Administration says William Leahy has
submitted his resignation "for personal reasons." A spokesperson would
not elaborate.

Leahy took the job in April, succeeding James Golden. Golden had been
fired by the T-S-A in February for improperly hiring his son-in-law to
supervise security screeners.

Leahy's tenure as security chief has been marked by several incidents --
including four evacuations in a two-week period this summer. Those
evacuations were prompted by apparent breeches of the screening process.

The T-S-A was created after the September Eleventh attacks to oversee
security at all airports.
