Hostettler Sentenced in Airport Gun Incident
The Associated Press

Louisville, KY - Republican Congressman John Hostettler (District 8) has
received a sentence of 60 days in jail for carrying a gun into the
Louisville, Kentucky, International Airport in April.

Hostettler likely won't set foot behind bars, though. A judge
conditionally discharged the congressman from serving time provided he
has no legal problems in the next two years.

Under terms of his plea taken earlier this month, the 43-year-old
Hostettler also had to give up his semiautomatic pistol, which screeners
found April 20 as he was heading for a US Airways flight.

At the time, Hostettler, who has a permit for the gun, said he forgot it
was in a briefcase.

Hostettler did not attend his sentencing in Jefferson District Court
yesterday.
