Cargo screening test to be conducted at D/FW
The Fort Worth (TX) Star-Telegram
D/FW AIRPORT - For the next two months, the Transportation Security
Administration will gather data to determine whether screening machines
at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport can be used to accurately screen some air
cargo.
The test will involve small parcels and cargo not on palettes being
screened with the same machines that scan passenger bags. Tests will
also occur in Atlanta, Miami, Anchorage, Los Angeles and Chicago, TSA
spokeswoman Andrea McCauley said.
"These tests give the TSA the opportunity to evaluate current
technologies to screen higher-risk cargo," McCauley said.
