Officials in Pittsburgh discuss airport security measures
The Pittsburgh (PA) Post-Gazette
The top U.S. Transportation Security Administration official in Pittsburgh
met Thursday with local, state and federal law enforcement and airport
officials to discuss ways to enhance security and reduce the possibility of
a terrorist attack.
Federal Security Director Robert Blose discussed a variety of measures
designed to "disrupt and prevent terrorist planning and decrease the
likelihood of a terrorist attack," according to a release issued yesterday.
The officials will continue to meet to formulate a plan. Passengers who use
Pittsburgh International Airport may see vehicle inspections, random
screenings, and a more visible police presence.
The TSA said neither the meeting nor increased security measures was related
to any specific threats or intelligence involving the Pittsburgh airport.
