TSA to Require Boarding Passes at the Security Checkpoint at
Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport
U.S. Newswire
GULFPORT, Miss., (U.S. Newswire) --The Transportation Security
Administration (TSA) will require passengers to have a boarding pass and
a government-issued identification (ID) at the screening checkpoint at
Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport starting Wednesday, August 11,
2004.
The majority of airports now require boarding passes at the checkpoint.
Passengers must have their boarding pass and a valid government-issued
photo ID, such as a driver's license, military ID or passport, in hand
as they enter the security checkpoint.
E-ticket receipts, itineraries (such as travel agent or airline
itineraries) and vouchers will no longer provide access through the
checkpoint at Gulfport-Biloxi, and boarding passes will no longer be
issued at the gate. Boarding passes may be obtained on most airline
websites, at ticket counters, or through airline computer kiosks.
"We would like to thank our partners, the Gulfport-Biloxi Regional
Airport Authority and the airlines, for making this transition as smooth
as possible," said Patrick Baroco, TSA Federal Security Director at
Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport. "We believe this change will
enhance security while simultaneously improving customer service for our
passengers."
