Breach Prompts Philly Airport Evacuation
The Associated Press
PHILADELPHIA - Hundreds of travelers were evacuated from Philadelphia
International Airport Wednesday while authorities investigated whether
three people entered a terminal without going through security.
Two terminals were closed after some travelers apparently walked the
wrong way along a corridor that was supposed to be for passengers
exiting after a flight, Transportation Security Administration
spokeswoman Andrea Fuentes said.
The three were never found and it was not immediately clear who they
were, Fuentes said. She said investigators believed any breach was
accidental.
The airport reopened after police finished checking the area, but the
80-minute closure delayed many flights.
Hundreds of evacuated passengers needed to be re-screened before they
could re-enter the terminal.
