Passenger counts up at Reno airport
The Associated Press
RENO, Nev. - The number of passengers traveling through Reno-Tahoe
International Airport jumped 18.24 percent in May over the same month a
year ago, airport officials said Thursday.
The Airport Authority of Washoe County reported 424,016 people passed
through the airport last month, compared with 358,615 a year earlier.
Year to date, the passenger counts were up 15 percent from 2003, the
authority said.
Executive Director Krys Bart said the increase is related to more
available flights and seats.
In May, the airport had 88 daily departures offering 10,457 seats. That
compares with 75 daily departures and 8,547 seats in the same month the
previous year.
