United Airlines files again for federal loan guarantee
The Associated Press

United Airlines has filed a new application for a federal loan
guarantee.

The move comes less than a week after federal authorities rejected a
similar request to guarantee $1.6 billion of its $2 billion in pending
private loans.

The airline has declined to reveal how much it is seeking in its new
application. Company spokeswoman Jean Medina would say only that the
request "included some changes."

Anne Womack Kolton, a spokeswoman for the Air Transportation
Stabilization Board, confirmed the new filing, but no details were
provided and the filing was not made public.
