Delta plane skids off runway at DFW airport
The Associated Press
GRAPEVINE -- A Delta commuter plane with 40 people aboard veered off a
slick runway Friday after landing at Dallas-Fort Worth International
Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
Delta spokeswoman Tonya Wagner said one person was injured and taken to
a hospital. Wagner had no further details.
FAA spokesman John Clabes told KTVT-TV of Dallas-Fort Worth that the
plane landed without incident, then hit a slick spot and slipped off the
runway.
Officials say the plane, operated by Chautauqua Airlines, arrived from
Oklahoma City and stopped about 60 feet on the side of the runway. DFW
airport authorities said there were 37 passengers and three crew members
on Flight 6490.
The runway was shut down, but DFW officials said there were no
significant delays.
