Reading Airport Loses Commuter Flights, Revenue

READING, Pa. -- The Reading Regional Airport Authority estimates the
loss of a commuter airline service will cost the airport about $105,000
in annual revenue.
Mesa Airlines flies three daily US Airways Express flights to
Pittsburgh, but officials said last week the company will end the
flights in September because it is losing money.
The airport is already facing an $80,000 shortfall in revenue for the
current year.
It will be without commuter service for the first time since 1941.
Board member Ronald Miller said the airport is exploring other
possibilities, including trying to lure specialty charter services or
working with other smaller airports to feed passengers to a hub.
