BAHRAIN's high performance and outstanding services at Bahrain
International Airport were hailed yesterday by the IATA Director-General
and CEO, Giovanni Bisignani.

In letter to the Minister of Transportation, Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al
Khalifa, Bisignani stressed the advanced level of services at the
airport during Formula One race in April.

He also praised Shaikh Ali's continued support to developing the
aviation sector along with the safety and security requirements to
enhance the movements of airlines.

During his visit to Bahrain, Bisignani toured the airport which he said
was most enjoyable as he found the services of first class standard at
the arrival and departure lounges.

He also praised the procedures for easing the traffic and movement of
Formula One fans which, he said, reflected the aviation sectors'
commitment to utilising the best services available.

Bisignani congratulated Shaikh Ali on the Kingdom's successful hosting
of the Formula One race and the international recognition it attained in
developing the aviation and tourism sectors.

The IATA director had met the minister during his visit and reviewed
with him the possibility of hosting an international conference in the
aviation sector, in coordination with IATA.
