Unions warn of travel chaos in Britain this summer airport workers
rejected a 2.5 percent pay increase was rejected by unions of airport
workers.

The BBC reported Saturday that 1,000 airport members of Britain's
General Union voted by more than 80 percent in favor of a strike.
Workers with the services group Aviance could join the action.

A 2.5 percent pay offer is effectively a pay freeze, said union
organizer Ed Blissett. Unless Aviance changes its policy, there will be
chaos across the airports this summer.

Affected airlines include British Midland, Iberia, Air India, Easyjet,
Japan Airlines and Air Seychelles.

If the workers represented by the services group Aviance joined the
action, 17 airports in Britain would be affected.
