NEW AIRPORT BUDGET LOWERS LANDING FEES
Press Release

Reno, NV - The Board of Trustees of the Airport Authority of Washoe
County (AAWC) announced yesterday it is reducing airline landing fees
during the 2004-2005 fiscal year to maintain a high level of airline
service.

The AAWC Board unanimously approved the new budget. While passenger
numbers have increased a dramatic 14 percent in the first quarter of
2004, the new budget keeps a tight reign on spending and supports
airline service growth by keeping operating costs down.

Budget highlights include AAWC operating costs increasing by only .5
percent and staff levels remaining the same as 2003-2004.

The most dramatic budget decrease in a year-to-year comparison is the
sharp 9-cent drop in the airline landing fee. The 2003-2004 fiscal year
budget featured a landing fee of $1.53 per 1,000 pounds. The landing fee
in this year's budget is $1.44 per 1,000 pounds.

"That decrease in landing fees will save our largest airline, Southwest,
approximately $150,200 per year," Krys Bart, A.A.E., Executive Director
of Reno/Tahoe International Airport, said. "Keeping airline operating
costs down helps the airlines increase service for our community."

With passenger numbers up 14 percent in the first quarter of 2004, a
lower landing fee benefits all the airlines at Reno/Tahoe International
Airport, Bart said.

"We have a constant goal of increasing air service and this year's
budget demonstrates fiscal responsibility as well as dedication to our
family of airlines," Bart said.
