WPLG-TV Ch 10, Miami (FL)

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport has
landed an aviation veteran for its new director.

Tom Jargiello was named director of Broward County Aviation Department
Tuesday. His experience includes positions as deputy director in Kansas
City, Mo., and 15 years in Pittsburgh.

Jargiello was named interim-director at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood
International last June.

Jargiello will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and long-range
planning for both the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and North Perry airports.

He supports the controversial south runway expansion, but says he's ready to
listen to residents concerns.
