One month to regional airport concession start
BNamericas.com

Peru's investment promotion agency ProInversion is ready to offer the
first tranche of regional airport concessions, Andina quoted the
agency's executive director, Rene Cornejo, as saying.

The first tranche will comprise airports in the north of the country,
including Iquitos, Piura, Chiclayo, Trujillo and Cajamarca.

"This will be the first package but we are going to see what other
airports we are able to integrate to make the concession more attractive
to investors," Cornejo said.

Bidding rules for the first tranche are expected to be available within
one month, according to Andina. ProInversion is putting together a
25-year minimum subsidy concession for up to 10 of the country's 19
loss-making regional airports.

UK consultants Currie & Brown/Masons said that the airports require
total investments of US$153mn for modernization and upgrades.
