Passenger traffic up 8% at ABIA

Passenger traffic in February at Austin
Bergstrom-International Airport was up about 8 percent
from a year ago, as most of the airlines saw
significant gains. 

  
Compared with a year ago, Frontier Airlines passenger
traffic last month increased 46 percent, totaling
11,345. Passenger traffic for Northwest Airlines
jumped 52 percent, totaling 18,694, and American
Airlines passenger traffic totaled 130,433, up 15
percent from February 2003. Passenger traffic for
Southwest Airlines increased 4 percent in February
2004, totaling 181,511. 

United Airlines reported a 21 percent decrease in
passenger traffic, totaling 24,491. Passenger traffic
for America West Airlines totaled 12,346 last month,
an 18 percent decline from the same time last year. 

ABIA's passenger traffic for February totaled 495,052,
up 7.7 percent from February 2003. 

Air cargo traffic at ABIA was down 4 percent for
February, totaling nearly 19 million pounds.
International air cargo totaled 886,727 pounds, down
42 percent from February 2003.
