Iberia considers switching Miami hub
(Iberia/ traslado del 'hub' de Miami a Centroamerica en 2005)
Spain - Expansion
Iberia, the Spanish airline, is in talks with the governments of various
Central American countries with a view to transferring the Miami hub to
one of the main airports in the area by 2005. This follows passenger
complaints about the security measures at US airports.
The main candidates for the hub appear to be Cancun (Mexico), San Jose
de Costa Rica and Ciudad de Panama. The airline will make its decision
during the course of this year.
