$38M Airport Job Goes Out for Bids
Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce, WA
SEATAC -- The Port of Seattle is advertising in
today's DJC for a major baggage handling project at
Sea-Tac Airport's expanded South Terminal.
Engineers estimate the project price will range
between $32 million and $38 million, port officials
say.
Work includes installing and modifying baggage sorting
and security screening systems; providing fire
protection systems; demolition; utility relocation;
erecting seismic braces; and providing fiber and
copper voice and data cabling.
A pre-bid meeting will be March 9 and 11 in the
airport theater. That's Room T-5597-MT in the main
terminal esplanade just south of the B Concourse
checkpoints. Both meetings start at 9 a.m. and will
last about two hours. They'll be followed by a
one-hour site inspection.
The deadline for submitting bids is 2 p.m. March 31.
