Delta Connection Carrier to Begin New Service from
Eugene, Oregon to Salt Lake City Hub

EUGENE, ORE., Feb. 23, 2004-- Delta Connection carrier
SkyWest will offer customers new service between
Eugene, Ore., and Delta Air Lines’ (NYSE: DAL) Salt
Lake City hub beginning May 1, 2004. SkyWest will
operate two daily round-trip flights between Eugene
and Salt Lake City with the popular 50-seat Bombardier
CRJ regional jets. The preliminary schedule includes
a 6:30 AM and a 1:10 PM departure from Eugene and
arrivals in Eugene at 12:30 PM and 9:25 PM.
"We are pleased to offer customers in Oregon
convenient travel options to Salt Lake City and
beyond, and bring the world to the beautiful
Northwest,” said Fred Buttrell, president and chief
executive officer of Delta Connection, Inc.
“This is great news for Eugene, Springfield and the
surrounding communities,” said Bob Noble, manager of
the Eugene Airport. “We now offer additional
East-bound connections, access to Delta’s worldwide
network and a schedule that accommodates business
purposes.”
Customers traveling through Delta’s hub at Salt Lake
City International Airport may choose from a
convenient selection of more than 296 flights to 68
domestic and international destinations on Delta,
Delta Connection carriers and other Delta partners.
Eugene was considered for new service based on market
demand and the incentives derived from a “travel
bank”, a revenue guaranty, and marketing assistance.
“I want to extend my greatest appreciation to all of
those who participated in the successful acquisition
of a new airline to add to the travel options from
Eugene,” Noble added. The new service is a result of
a collaborative effort between the City of Eugene, the
Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce, a number of local
businesses, the Eugene Airport and Salt Lake City
Airport, the Oregon Department of Aviation, and
support from Fourth District Representative
Congressman Peter DeFazio.
