Nashville Airport Getting Ground Vehicle Simulator

The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority is buying
a $575,000, virtual-reality-based airport ground
vehicle driving simulator from Orlando, Fla.-based
Environmental Tectonics Corp. 

 
The authority decided to buy the simulator for
training of its airport fire and rescue and
maintenance teams at Nashville International Airport
to enhance their skills driving various types of
vehicles throughout the airport and within flight line
areas. 

The multi-year contract includes installation and
long-term maintenance for the equipment. 

ETC designs, develops, installs, and maintains aircrew
training systems, public entertainment systems, and
process simulation systems.
