Frontier Opening New Kansas City Maintenance Facility
Bizjournals.com
Denver-based Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) plans to
establish a new maintenance facility at Kansas City
International Airport (MCI) in Kansas City, Mo.
The new operation, Frontier's third maintenance
facility after Denver and Phoenix, will initially
employ 12 mechanics, including two avionics
technicians, two lead mechanics, seven mechanics and
one supervisor, when it begins service on April 1.
The new operation will support Frontier's seven daily
nonstop flights to and from Kansas City, including
five to Denver and two to Los Angeles.
"Frontier's seven daily nonstops to and from Kansas
City International Airport make it a critical airport
in our system, and its location is central to several
of our destinations, making it geographically
advantageous for the expansion of our maintenance
program," said Ron McClellan, vice president of
maintenance and engineering, in a statement. "In
addition, Kansas City is a very popular destination,
has a topnotch aircraft mechanic base and a great
facility in Kansas City International Airport, making
it an obvious choice for our maintenance expansion."
