Lawmakers Seek Airport Development Zones
Appleton Post Crescent, WI
OSHKOSH — Companion bills introduced in the state
Senate and Assembly by local legislators have Wittman
Regional Airport written all over them.
Oshkosh Republican state Sen. Carol Roessler and state
Rep. Greg Underheim have proposed legislation to
enable the creation of airport development zones,
including tax credits, for businesses and the ability
to issue bonds for improving airport facilities.
Roessler said tax credits would be tied to the number
of full-time jobs created by a business located in or
moving into the development zones.
Winnebago County Supv. Mark Nielsen, chairman of the
county’s Aviation Committee, proposed the idea to
Roessler and Underheim.
