Airport Gets Priority in Niagara County
Buffalo Business First, NY

Boosting traffic at Niagara Falls International
Airport is a top priority for the Niagara USA Chamber,
according to the 2004 legislative agenda released by
the business group Monday.

"Developing a world-class airport will undoubtedly
serve as a stimulus for development in Niagara Falls
and strengthen the area's tourism efforts," said
Angela Berti, the chamber's vice president for
government and public affairs.

The organization also called on the state legislature
to cut local responsibility for Medicaid. County
governments currently pay 25 percent of the state's
Medicaid expenses, even though the program itself is
administered at the state level.

The Niagara USA Chamber also endorsed creation of a
permanent formula to distribute revenues generated by
the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, incentives
for health-care benefits for small businesses, and
expansion of the Niagara Wine Trail.
