Delta Making Flight Changes at D/FW
Dallas Business Journal, TX
Delta Connection Inc., a group of carriers owned by Atlanta-based Delta Air
Lines (NYSE: DAL), plans to boost the number of flights it operates at
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, while scaling back some nonstop
service.
The schedule changes, which take effect in February and March, will increase
departures by 13 flights to the 11 cities that Delta Connection currently
serves from D/FW. The cities are: Alexandria, La.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; El
Paso; Houston-Intercontinental; Lexington, Ky.; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Okla.;
Ontario, Calif.; Phoenix; and Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
Delta Connection carriers Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Chautauqua and SkyWest
will operate the flights with the Bombardier and Embraer CRJ/ERJ regional jets.
Also as part of the schedule changes, Delta said it will no longer operate
nonstop service from D/FW to Columbus, Ohio, and Louisville, Ky. Passengers
traveling to those cities will make a connection in Cincinnati or Atlanta,
Delta said.
"These adjustments are part of continuous improvement at the hub and add
further enhancements to the schedule," said Fred Buttrell, president and chief
executive of Delta Connection.
