BWI Airport Plans Threat Advisory Level Orange Practice Exercise for
Tuesday, September 16
Press Release
The Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) announced today that a practice
exercise will be conducted Tuesday, Sept. 16, to prepare in the event of
actual Code Orange Advisory at Baltimore/W ashington International Airport
(BWI).
The practice exercise will test actions and procedures to be followed should
BWI be directed by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to
operate under Threat Level Orange procedures. The Sept. 16 exercise will be
limited to the set-up of signs and vehicle inspection checkpoints. No public
vehicles will be inspected as part of the practice. The public will not be
impacted by the exercise. The exercise is intended to refine Threat Level
Orange procedures for efficient operations.
MAA will work with other State and local agencies to practice the procedures
to be followed should BWI Airport be directed by TSA to inspect vehicles, as
part of Threat Level Orange requirements.
