Airport worker dies in flight line accident
The Associated Press

NORFOLK, Va. -- A Northwest Airlines worker died from injuries suffered on
the flight line at Norfolk International Airport, the airline said Sunday.

The company identified her as Denise Bogucki, 43.

Northwest spokeswoman Cristy Cote said Bogucki was injured while preparing
an aircraft for departure about 7 p.m. Friday.

"Fellow Northwest employees rushed to aid Denise. Regrettably, the injuries
she sustained claimed her life," Cote said.

An airport spokesman told WAVY-TV that Bogucki was injured while pushing a
Northwest plane away from the gate with a ground tug.

A towbar used by the ground tug became disconnected from the plane and the
ground tug then hit the aircraft, fatally injuring Bogucki, the airport
said.

Bogucki was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where she died from
her injuries.
