Houston Airport System hires security consultant
The Houston (TX) Business Journal

The Houston Airport System has selected a team headed by Parsons as a
security consultant for the three Houston airports -- George Bush
Intercontinental Airport, William P. Hobby Airport and Ellington Field.

Parsons' contract includes reviewing the current security plan, assessing
the threats to and vulnerability of HAS airports, developing a new
comprehensive security master plan for each of the three airports, and
serving as the HAS security program management consultant.

Parsons, a Pasadena, Calif.-based planning, engineering and construction
firm that specializes in program management and technology, said its
recommendations to HAS will include a combination of technological,
procedural, architectural, facilities and manpower options.

Comprehensive reviews of each airport will include physical security of the
terminals, baggage systems, fuel farms, heating/ventilation/air conditioning
systems, cargo area and utility infrastructure. Recommendations for closed
circuit television, biometric access control and other security systems will
be included.
