Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, Airport Plans to Add Quick-Entry Lanes
The Fort Worth (TX) Star-Telegram

DALLAS/FORT WORTH AIRPORT, Texas--Commuters who want to cut through
Dallas/Fort Worth Airport and pay nothing know the best way is to take the
northbound or southbound service road that runs parallel to International
Parkway.

Since May 1999, when D/FW began charging commuters $2 for passing through
the airport on International Parkway, an average of 10,000 motorists per day
have used the service road.

Commuters also know that buses and service vehicles have to stop on the road
to enter the terminals at gated entry points. When they do, traffic backs
up.

To prevent road hazards -- and to relieve congestion -- D/FW Airport plans
to build as many as 11 quick-exit/entry lanes along the roads.

Plans for the work will be completed by November.
