The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES -- Nine employees at Burbank Airport with criminal records or in
the country illegally were arrested by federal agents.

The employees arrested in the past two weeks worked security, baggage
handling and parking jobs, the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement
said. The bureau is part of the Department of Homeland Security.

"We must see to it that those who have access to secure areas of our
airports are worthy of the trust the public places in them," the bureau's
local interim agent in charge, Lorraine Brown, said Thursday.
