Head of Polish airports dismissed
Poland - PAP news agency, Warsaw
Warsaw, Infrastructure Minister Marek Pol recalled, as of 31 August 2003,
head of PLL (State Airports) Zbigniew Lesiecki and accepted resignation of
Civil Aviation Office head (ULC) Marek Sidor, the ministry wrote in a
statement issued Thursday [7 August].
The statement did not disclose reasons behind Lesiecki's dismissal and
Sidor's resignation but the moves follow mass media reports on both men
having accepted additional money from LOT's strategic investor Swissair when
they were sitting on Polish national carrier LOT board.
This is the aftermath of a case which brought a result in the form of the
resignation of Jan Litwinski from the post of LOT CEO in mid-March and a
dismissal by the state treasury of two LOT deputy CEOs at the end of April.
