Security Breach At Midway Airport Still Under Investigation
WBBM Newsradio 780, Chicago (IL)
(Chicago)—The federal Transportation Security Administration says the
security breach at Midway Airport over the weekend is still under
investigation - and a spokeswoman says no one will be fired as a result of
the breach.
The Chicago police have blamed the one-hour shutdown of Midway Saturday
night on miscommunication between federal security screeners.
The federal Transportation Security Administration will not talk about what
it's doing to correct things. TSA Spokeswoman Chris Rhatigan says it's all
under investigation.
Rhatigan says no federal screeners are losing their jobs as a result of the
security breach, but she would not say whether they are being re-assigned or
even re-trained.
Rhatigan says the federal screeners at Midway are "not proud of the fact
they had a breach and they're working to right that."
