Major Russian airport may be put under private management
Russia - Interfax news agency, Moscow

St Petersburg, There has been no decision so far to place Moscow's
Sheremetyevo airport under private management, Economics Minister German
Gref told reporters in St Petersburg on Tuesday [17 June].

"There are understandings to hold an international tender and invite a
consortium of companies to manage the airport," he said. "Sheremetyevo may
be placed under private management with the purpose of building a third
terminal and forming Russia's first full-scale aviation transit centre," he
said.

Gref found it difficult to say when the competition will be held. "In this
connection, the question of the Sheremetyevo CEO is not very topical," he
said. He added that the annual meeting of Sheremetyevo, which has one
shareholder - the state - "is a formality and may be held at any time".
