Woes Hit Indianapolis Airport
The Associated Press

Indianapolis -- Airport officials in Indianapolis are blaming a seven-year
low in passenger traffic on a downturn in the economy.

About three-point-five million passengers flew out of Indianapolis in 2002.
That's a four-point-seven percent drop from the previous year.

Though it is the lowest number since 1995, when only three-point-four
million people used the airport to depart, the downturn is slightly better
than the average five percent drop for airports around the nation.

The airport hopes construction scheduled to begin this year on a one billion
dollar terminal will help the airport come back. The terminal will
accommodate about 50 percent more passengers and flights.
