NFTA altering airport parking
Buffalo (NY) Business First
Effective April 1, the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority will
introduce a new parking plan at Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
NFTA officials said the "Express Pass/FreeQuent Parker" program is designed
to increase convenience by eliminating the need for customers to take a
parking ticket. Instead, enrolled members will receive an electronic AVI tag
for placement in car windows allowing access to a special lane and bypassing
the need for a ticket. Members can also gain bonus points for awards such as
car washes, oil changes and free parking.
The NFTA will also lower the maximum daily cost of parking at the 900-space
short-term ramp to $15 from $20 on April 1. Free parking will remain
available at the airport's three facilities for customers who stay less than
30 minutes.
