Delays Could Plague Airport Runway
WXIA-TV, GA

Heavy rain that stalled the construction of a deep drainage system could
cause a delay in construction of a new runway at Hartsfield Atlanta
International Airport.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the company hired for the drainage
of the airport's fifth runway has done no work since its equipment was
flooded in December.

The newspaper says other contractors fear there could be a domino effect of
delays and cost increases for the rest of the runway project.

The deadline for the project is May 1.
