Four Indicted On Airport Security Charges
WHO-TV, IA
Des Moines, - The U.S. Attorney's Office announced the indictment of four
men, on charges of falsifying employment records at the Des Moines
International Airport.
These men were not applying for security positions, but were applying for
positions that would have access to secure areas of the airport. Indicted
in the investigations are 42 year-old Kevin Killmer of Pleasant Hill, 23
year-old Justin Talbert of Des Moines, 35 year-old Bryan Nelson of Des
Moines and 29 year old Robert Troidl of Land O' Lakes, Florida.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says each man made false statements in connection
with his individual potential employment at the airport, by misrepresenting
his criminal record. The investigation spearheaded by the F.B.I., Social
Security, Inspector General and I.N.S., is part of an effort to ensure
people who are in those secure areas of the airport are subject to
appropriate background checks.
The indictment spells out the criminal background of the four men including
drug convictions. The fourth man, Robert Troidl, had been convicted in
Florida of making a bogus bomb threat.
All four men face a maximum of five years in prison 25-thousand dollars in
fines and three years supervision if found guilty.
