OHIO/ Airport Merger
Bond Buyer - The American Banker

The Columbus City Council on Monday voted to merge two airports and
create the Columbus Regional Airport Authority.

The council voted to merge Rickenbacker Airport, which handles cargo
aircraft, and Port Columbus, which primarily has passenger traffic.

The change, which the council said it hopes to complete by January,
would allow for additional air traffic, as well as combine operations to
save the county money, according to local reports.

Franklin County commissioners will vote Tuesday on whether to approve
the merger. One council member told the Columbus Dispatch that the
merger allows for land for future expansion.
